Di Ellis Sanctorium runs to August 14 | | | | Sanctorium (detail) quilting with hand embroidered solvent transfer prints. |
Ellis's current practice explores the theme of personal fortification in contemporary society. Through protective or restrictive garments, and now icons and amulets she examines patriarchal order as imposed upon women. Sanctorium is a hand quilted protective cover for the “Dolls House” further fortified with amulets to protect the occupants from the rigors of the Post 9/11 world.
